Finance Operations Manager

  • Location: London
  • Contract: Full time
  • Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Benefits: share options, 27 days' holiday, enhanced pension contributions, private health insurance, EV Salary Sacrifice Options

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a hands-on Finance Operations Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will take ownership of the company’s financial operations, with end-to-end responsibility for overseeing day-to-day finance, reviewing operational efficiency and continuously implementing improvements to our finance processes and systems.

You’ll initially work closely both with our Founder and our Chief Technology Officer, and wider technical team, to build a financial landscape that supports compliance and fuels sustainable growth. You’ll need to be comfortable making commercially driven decisions; balancing risk management with the need to support ambitious but sustainable growth plans.

You’ll be a natural problem solver with a strong bias to take action, adaptable in your approach and confident operating in a business where priorities can shift and finance plays a critical role in enabling progress, not slowing it down. If you thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy autonomy and flexibility and take pride in building and shaping finance functions from the ground up, this could be the perfect role for you.

👋 The Company

The electric vehicle revolution needs to be accelerated to avoid climate disaster. Our mission is to get dirty petrol and diesel vehicles off our roads as quickly as possible and replace them with clean electric cars and vans. What might surprise you is that the majority of electric vehicles are not bought by individuals, they’re bought by companies. But these companies still face challenges as they electrify their vehicle fleet. Rightcharge removes these barriers to help them electrify faster.

Our core products today are the Rightcharge Card and Rightcharge Home Reimbursement. Combined, these two products give companies access to the largest aggregated network of public chargers in Europe (over 800,000 individual chargers), as well as the most sophisticated solution to accurately reimburse employees for charging their work vehicles at home. Less than 18 months from launching our B2B product, we’ve signed up some of the UK's largest fleets including The AA, Stagecoach and Vinci. Our goal is to continue accelerating this growth, our brand, positioning, brand awareness, product awareness and channel strategy will play a huge role.

⚡ The Role

Join us in pioneering the future of corporate electric fleet solutions. As the Finance Operations Manager your role will include:

Finance Ownership & Operations

  • Own end-to-end finance operations across the business
  • Continuously improve finance processes, systems and controls as the company scales (sometimes building completely from scratch)
  • Build finance processes that balances compliance with speed and commercial impact

Reporting, Cash & Controls

  • Produce management accounts and financial reporting to support decision-making
  • Own cash flow forecasting, monitoring and all reconciliation processes
  • Oversee payments, collections and improve core financial controls

Commercial & Risk Support

  • Lead credit control and customer risk management with a pragmatic, commercial lens
  • Support pricing, contracts, and discounting decisions
  • Partner with leadership to enable growth-focused decisions without unnecessary friction

Compliance & Scale

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and statutory requirements
  • Manage year-end processes and reporting
  • Build a flexible, scalable finance setup that grows with the business and leverages technology and AI to maximise efficiency and cost effectiveness.

🥇 What you'll bring

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a hands-on finance role, with a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA/CPA or equivalent)
  • Strong core accountancy skills with an industry-focused background (B2B experience or exposure to tech or product-led businesses is a plus but not essential)
  • Practical experience using Xero (including pulling reports, producing management accounts and handling cash and balance sheet reconciliations)
  • Excellent Excel and Google suite working knowledge as part of your arsenal
  • Confidence working with finance systems and tools, with the ability to build and improve processes, rather than just operate them
  • Background in a startup or high-growth environment where things are still being built, refined and improved
  • Commercially minded - comfortable making decisions with imperfect information and balancing risk with speed
  • A flexible, pragmatic problem-solver who avoids rigid “by-the-book” thinking and focuses on what’s right for the business
  • Willingness to fully immerse yourself in startup culture; taking ownership and adapting as priorities evolve

⭐️ What we're offering

  • Up to £60,000 based on experience.
  • Share options - ensuring every team member has ownership in the business.
  • 27 days paid holiday allowance.
  • EV Salary Sacrifice Options
  • Company MacBook
  • Additional pension contributions
  • Private Health Insurance
  • Thursday after work social drinks
  • Work-from-home flexibility (1-2 days in the office each week)
  • A vibrant and inclusive company culture.
  • Opportunities for career growth and development.
