About Kapu
Kapu is on a mission to bring down the cost of everyday living & save consumers in Africa $1 billion.
By building the most relevant B2C e-commerce model for for Africa’s urban low income households.
Meet Kapu : E-commerce for Africa’s Mass Market
The average household in Kenya spends 40% of income on groceries (compared to 6% in the US). We think this is unfair. Models that brought efficiency to retail in other markets are gaining limited traction on the Continent (supermarkets, e-commerce 1.0). They are not suited to how customers spend: little, often, and close to home.
This is what makes Kapu different and relevant. By building on traditional shopping behaviours, we believe Kapu will change the $500B retail market and distribution landscape across the continent, and more importantly, materially increase disposable income for consumers. This is a BIG opportunity!
Kapu is on a mission to reduce the cost of living and save consumers in Africa $1 billion.
Today, we proudly serve over 100,000 households in Nairobi, Kenya by operating the lowest cost to serve model so we can profitability offer customers the best range of groceries, at lower prices, delivered close to home. And we’re just getting started…
Our founding team has deep experience in e-commerce in Africa and has worked together for years, creating the best team globally for to execute this model. With intentional company culture (Kapu DNA) at the core, we have built a rock-star team and delivered a product that customers already love.
